Free Digital Humanities Skills Workshop

Are you working with digital humanities techniques – or curious what DH can do for you?

Hacking History is a free, all-day DH skills workshop, hosted in different locations. This event in January is hosted in collaboration with Coventry University Library.

As well as a complimentary breakfast and lunch for all attendees, there are prizes for the best hackathon projects!

Who Is This Workshop For?

This event is open to all academics, postgraduates, postdoctoral researchers or library staff interested in growing their digital scholarship skills. Whether you have experience in digital scholarship, or are looking to build your skills and knowledge, you can join a group tailored to your comfort level.

Beginners/Intermediate Group

For those relatively new to DH.
  • Gain experience with DH methods in a hands-on, expertly guided, low-pressure atmosphere.
  • Develop your skills with digital methodologies at the forefront of research and instruction.
  • Break down barriers to teaching with DH – and solidify your pedagogical knowledge.
Advanced Group

For those comfortable with DH.
  • Network and learn from other DH users in a fun, hands-on environment.
  • Gain insights and ideas to share across your institution's humanities and social science research community.
  • Make new research connections, spark new ideas – and get a download of the datasets your team created.
